10th October 2010 Windsurfing: Ynyslas Estuary Wind Direction: ENE Wind Stength: 25-30 knots Surf / Sea State: FLat Air Temperature: 13ºC Sea Temperature: 15ºC Weather: Cloudy Max Speed: 32 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 7.1 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Another early start, Up at 3.30am, watched F1 qualifying and then did some work before heading to the beach and rigging in the dark. Once again it was only blowing at around 25 knots but I was expecting it to go mad once the sun rose so rigged by Fanatic Falcon Speed board and little 5.2m speed sail.. I was on the water before it was light but there was only just enough wind for that kit, and with a strong current to contend with it wasn't the easiest of sessions. I managed a few decent runs but nothing really fast. Top speed was only 32 knots. As the tide filled in the wind remained about the same and I packed up as everyone else turned up at the beach. I should have rigged my 6.3m really, but it's a nightmare to rig and by then the speed channel had disappeared. |
